The Village at Mammoth provides a space for family friendly community events year round on their wide-open plaza. Throughout the summer The Village holds a variety of festivals, concert series, and movie series that are open to the public and FREE. This year, August 22-24, the village will be hosting the 6th annual Mammoth Rocks-A Taste of the Sierra festival. In addition to fantastic 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s rock tribute bands, there will be food and spirits provided by Mammoth’s top restaurants and eateries.

Mammoth Rocks is centered around 10 semi-local classic rock tribute bands that will be playing on The Village plaza stage. The headliner for this year’s festival is Atomic Punks (a tribute to early Van Halen). This band was featured in AXS TV’s Worlds Greatest Tribute Bands hosted by Katie Daryl on the Sunset Strip. They preform Saturday night, August 22nd.  Other bands in this years line up include: Mother Mercy, Abbey Road, Fireball, In the Led, Bird Dog, Petty Theft, Rockin’ Down the Hiway, and Stratusphunk. The sounds and sights of this festival range from The Beatles classics preformed by professional musicians in full costume to original funk played by down-to-earth local bands. There is something for everyone!

Of course the festival wouldn’t be complete without beer and tasty snacks from local restaurants! Starting at 10AM all weekend, participating restaurants will be setting up booths around the outside plaza and offering small bites of their most popular dishes. This years festival vendors include: ChartHouse, Side Door, Smokeyard BBQ and Chop Shop, Thai’d Up Authentic Thai Cuisine, Whitebark, SheShe’s Treats, The Eatery, and High Sierra Kettle Company.

So grab a snack and enjoy the sunshine, or stars, all while grooving to bands covering your favorite classics. Lounge chairs are sprinkled around the front of the stage for the entire day and a huge bonfire is lit after dark. There is also space to dance and twirl, if you’re brave enough. This is truly one of The Village at Mammoth’s best summer festivals because there is something for the entire family. In addition to the festivities on the plaza The Village shops and restaurants will remain open for browsing and sit down meals.

Enjoy!
